Here is some introductory files on beginning statistics. Many people begin statistics by wishing to compare two sets of data that has originated with the same people. The dataset differs over time and we want to see if there has been a change. If the change is significant, we can attribute it to some experience the whole group of people that exhibits the change has experienced. This is usually some sort of intervention.
